Geeks On Call began in 2007 in Johannesburg, founded by Steven Grimshaw, an adventurous, determined, and deeply passionate technologist. What started as a personal passion quickly grew into something much bigger, a company built on curiosity, problem-solving, and a genuine desire to help people understand and use technology with confidence.
In the early days, the business was small, growing slowly through word of mouth. Steven brought together people with diverse strengths and skill sets, building a tight-knit, geeky family who shared his passion for learning and problem-solving. Every solution, every late-night fix, every challenge solved reinforced his belief that success would come through patience, perseverance, and staying true to his vision.
Even in a competitive market, Geeks On Call continued to grow organically, not because of flashy marketing or big campaigns, but because of trust, authenticity, and the relationships Steven built with each client. His ability to stay focused, keep learning, and bring others along with him has shaped the business from day one.
A few years ago, Steven moved to Brisbane, Australia, where his passion for technology inspired him to build a second IT company offering the same care-driven services as Geeks On Call, this time expanding into digital development and AI technology services. His drive remains the same: to stay ahead of ever-changing tech trends and create simpler, smarter ways for small and medium businesses to run.
